Pause today…read slowly…savor each thought…and worship!

God, You live forever—You have no beginning and no end.

By Your word, the foundations of the world were laid.

Mountains tremble, and the heavens bow at Your command.

Your lightning reaches the ends of the earth. Your thunder roars wondrously.

The heavens are telling the glory of God, and their expanse declares the works of His hands.

From Your breath ice is made, and the great expanse of the waters is frozen.

With moisture You load the thick clouds and change their direction.

Who else can spread out the skies like a molten mirror when the sun goes down?

Who else could lay the foundation of the earth, setting its measurements in perfect balance?

You enclosed the sea with doors, placing boundaries on it, saying here your proud waters stop.

You have entered the springs of the sea and walked in the deep recesses of the earth.

You have seen the storehouses of the snow and hail, and know their time of release.

You bring rain showers on the desert and satisfy the desolate land.

You create dew, making the seeds of grass and grain to sprout.

You lead forth a constellation in its season, binding the chains of Pleiades and the cords of Orion.

You arranged the ordinances of the heavens and fixed their rule over the earth.

You satisfy the appetite of the young lion, and know the time the mountain goats give birth.

God, You see the ostrich flap her wings joyously, and have given the horse his might.

By Your understanding, You made a hawk to soar and caused the eagle to nest on high.

Your voice shakes the wilderness but also makes the deer calve.

All this speaks of Your wonder and majesty, things too wonderful for me!

Your way is blameless, Your words are tried and true—You are utterly reliable.

Everything You say I can count on, for You are altogether trustworthy.

You are always doing great things I cannot understand.

Oh the wonders of One perfect in knowledge and understanding!

Your name is Holy, and You live in a high and holy place.

Yet You also live with the contrite in spirit, and the lowly, in order to revive them.

You are the giver of peace to one who is near, and also to the one who is far away.

You are the healer of the brokenhearted.

You go before me, and underneath are Your everlasting arms.

Your glory is my rear guard, surrounding me with Your presence.

You are the One who lifts my head and puts gladness in my heart.

You carry me up to the heights of the earth.

You have a name for every star.

Your thoughts are more numerous than the sand.

You know when the sparrow falls.

The very hairs of my head are counted.

Many O Lord, are Your wonders and the earth is full of Your glory.

You are able to do exceedingly abundantly, beyond all that I ask or think.

In Your presence is fullness of joy!

At Your right hand, there are pleasures evermore.

You have made me a little lower than the angels, yet I am the apple of Your eye.

Your righteousness is like a mighty mountain, immovable, unchanging, sure.

You judgments are like a great deep ocean. You see the depths of each situation.

You are the fountain of life, an unending river.

You will execute judgment and mercy with perfect fairness.

Because You so loved me, You paid the price for my separation from You.

You threw all my sins into a sea of forgetfulness.

As far as the east is from the west, so my sins are removed from me.

You have kept my soul from the pit of nothingness, protecting me from futility.

Nations tremble at Your presence, yet You act on behalf of the one who waits for You.

You meet the one who rejoices in doing right, who hungers and thirsts for it.

Before I even call to You, You answer me. While I am still speaking, You hear.

You alone make me dwell in safety. You are my protector, my strong tower.

No evil dwells in You—You hate falsehood, bloodshed, and rebellion.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne.

You words are like apples of gold in settings of silver.

You mean what You say, and can sustain the weary one with a word.

You are full of lovingkindness and hear the voice of those who weep.

A nursing mother may abandon her child, but You will take up the one abandoned.

You are a stronghold for the oppressed and will not forget the cry of the afflicted.

You are gentle and kind, a father to the orphan, a husband to the widow.

You satisfy my scorched places, giving strength to my bones.

You hear the groaning of the needy and say, “I will set him in the safety for which he longs.”

Your eyes search the whole earth, looking for the one who’s heart is completely Yours.

You counsel and instruct in the night, telling me the way to go.

God, Your laws are perfect, restoring the soul, making wise the simple.

You discern my hidden faults and will not let my presumption rule over me.

Some boast in their own power, thinking they can fix a broken world.

But I will boast in the name of the Lord my God.

You have authority over all nations. You remove kings and establish kings.

All power is Yours, and no man can control Your plan.

You give wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.

You reveal the profound and hidden things and know what lies in the darkness.

You give the voice of joy, the voice of gladness, the voice of the bride and the bridegroom.

Lord, You are the good Shepherd and Your sheep hear Your voice.

You understand the need for rest and bring me to places of still waters to restore my soul.

Compassion and lovingkindness are from old and are eternally Your nature.

Your heart is greatly moved by a person who considers another who is helpless.

You ride for the cause of truth, meekness, righteousness and justice.

 

You are my defense in a day of trouble, my heart shall not fear.

Whether I live or die, I am Yours.

The entire world stands in awe of You, because You spoke and it was done.

You laugh, yes! You laugh at the future, for You are in control.

Your plan for the fullness of time on earth is set and nothing will stop You.

You have always planned a larger story for us. You made us for eternity.

All authority belongs to You, Your throne is forever, and therefore I will not fear.

Though the earth will change and wear out in catastrophic ways, I will not be shaken.

 

All mankind will come and bow down before You, every knee bend, every eye see.

Who can frustrate Your sovereign plan? Who can stop it?

I will cease striving and remember that You are God…
